The aim of this course is to ensure that mariners are trained and prepared to respond safely and efficiently for controlling the cargo handling and other operations on LNG carriers, required in today’s Tanker trade. It gives the participants “hands-on” training and builds their confidence in handling cargo operations and troubleshooting during work in LNG carriers.

Simulated Cargo Exercises

Practical exercises structured around the procedures and operation of the cargo and ballast installation of an LNG tanker.

A safer and more effective contribution to the operation and control of the cargo and ballast installation of a LNG tanker.
Simulated cargo exercises conducted using a ‘State of the art’ LNG Cargo Operations Simulator, covering all subject areas recommended by IMO Model Course 1.36 “Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Tanker Cargo and Ballast Handling Simulator”.
With the growing understanding about hazards involving carriage of LNG cargo, this course develops the professional skills and confidence of Deck officers who are engaged in the handling of Bulk Liquid Cargoes with the help of simulating the cargo operations conducted on LNG Tankers.
Designed for officers and personnel serving onboard LNG Carriers, this course targets those responsible for the safe planning and execution of cargo operations.
The course follows IMO Model Course 1.36 guidelines, covering all operations in a typical LNG Carrier Delivery/Drydock to Drydock voyage cycle. It provides practical and operational knowledge for each subject area.
This intensive course uses a blended learning and assessment approach. The pre-requisite sequence in the beginning of the exercises guides users in learning the line-ups, machinery requirements, and operational flow. Assessment takes place during the operation phase, where users must achieve key milestones.
Upon completion and a successful assessment the candidate will receive a certificate issued by AVRIO.
5 days.
All Operation and Management Level officers serving on board LNG Carriers.
